In September of 2024 I went on an exhausting search for this diaphragm because mine was old, inflexible, and the engine stumbled upon hard acceleration. I discovered only two diaphragms for sale in the world. One in Canada was selling for $60.00. Another in Europe was offered for $130.00. That killed my search dead.
Instead, I purchased a Chinese carb for $45.00. My engine supervisor, Joel Gulbranson, says these carbs are pretty darn good and jets are interchangeable with the original. I’ll get back to you about performance after it's installed.
One part on the original carb puzzled Joel and me. It’s part number 21, which is the accelerator pump shutoff. Why would Kawasaki want to limit engine performance by inhibiting full throttle fuel mixture? We still have no answer. Maybe some of you can illuminate this for us.
