Mid-range enduro bikes have been gaining popularity in 2025/26. J.D. Power says the 1978 Kawasaki KL250A has values ranging from $450 for a fair condition bike to $2,475 for an excellent condition bike. From my web searches, mine is one of two most outstanding KLs I’ve seen. I’m offering mine for $1895/offer. It has a title, manual, plate and current MN tab. Background and features
I was ghosting around Craigslist four years ago and found this ‘enduro’ I didn’t know existed. I was stunned by great tank shape and aluminum rims. The early KLs were the best looking enduros and for couple of years the fastest of the four Asian brands. I bought a non-running bike--big mistake. It had a toasted piston and the wiring harness was junk. All the ills were handled by my pro mechanic. The bike had 6438 original miles--not bad for a 48 year old bike. Since the upper end rebuild, it has 6479 miles. Why would I sell the bike after a $2500 plus expense and put only 41 miles on the odo? At 84 and after back surgery I can’t comfortably kick start it anymore. (Starting secret: gas on, ignition off, two kicks. Ignition on, one kick).
Let me tell you what I changed on this bike, because I don’t do stock. I filled in the pressed tank seam for smoother look. Copied the KX styling of the period with Kaw racing green. The ugly pipe guards were removed for a cleaner look. The guards only protected the passenger, not the rider. Carb is totally updated. It runs!

Custom seat
Made the seat base, carved the foam, and applied the graphics (not easy). My upholsterer of 25 years did the sewing.
One-off enduro plate
Note altered stock exhaust. Swingarm is silver like KXs.
Modern brake light
A contemporary enduo tail/brake light has a low profile when you swing a leg over.
